Surat: Yet another fake email controversy involving Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) Vice-Chancellor (V-C) has emerged. This time the fake email was sent to the university staff as well as others.

The in-charge Vice-Chancellor has clarified that the email is a fake one and has approached the police to register a case.

In-charge Vice-Chancellor of VNSGU Dr Hemali Desai said that it was brought to her notice that several staff and professors of the university had got an email from an id.

The email to the staff and professors came from [email protected] but displayed the name of Dr Hemali Desai. She said she immediately warned the staff about the fake id and clarified her official id as well.

She is now in the process of filing a complaint with the cops.

A similar incident happened earlier too

This is not the first time that fake email id of the Vice-Chancellor is being used in an attempt to trap staff and others.

Earlier a similar incident had happened with former VNSGU Vice-Chancellor Dr Shivendra Gupta. Twice the varsity staff got emails allegedly from the Vice-Chancellor promising them gift vouchers from Amazon and a link to download the same.

Interestingly, the earlier mail, as well as the current fake email, came from the email id [email protected]

Other controversies

Earlier a controversial audio clip purported to be of Shivendra Gupta, (Veer Narmad South Gujarat University), VNSGU V-C (vice-chancellor) had gone viral setting tongues wagging.

In the audio clip, a person was heard making uncharitable comments about Hindu saints. Many in social media alleged that the man in the audio was Gupta.

After the audio went viral, Gupta has filed a complaint with the cybercrime.  Speaking about the controversial video, Gupta said that some unknown person made an email id and made the audio viral.
