An era in Gujarati film industry has come to an end, said actor Hiten Kumar on the death of superstar Naresh Kanodiya and his brother Mahesh Kanodiya two days ago.
“This is a very difficult period for all of us. The Kanodiya brothers worked together like Ram and Laxman. They began their struggle together in the industry and left the world one after another,” said Hiten Kumar.
“The industry has lost two veterans who were one of the biggest entertainers of the Gujarati movie world. This is the worst news of 2020 for the industry to lose two such talents in such a short period,” said Hiten Kumar.
Kirtidan Gadhvi, the popular singer said that he had been a fan of Naresh Kanodiya since ages. “Naresh Kanodiya took the Gujarati film industry to its peak. What he has left behind is a big hole that will never be filled. The contribution of the two brothers will be remembered for ages to come,” said Gadhvi.
Mayur Vakani, producer Abhilash Ghoda and singer Arvind Vegda also paid rich tributes to the Kanodiya brothers.
Gujarati film superstar Naresh Kanodiya, 77, succumbed to COVID-19 while under treatment at the UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad.
Naresh Kanodiya is considered to be the Amitabh Bachchan of the Gujarati film industry.
Naresh’s brother Mahesh who passed away two days ago was a well-known music director and singer. The brothers had come together to give music in several films.
Naresh Kanodiya had also been an active politician and had been an MLA with the BJP. His brother Mahesh was an MP for the BJP five times.
