Gujarat on Monday recorded 626 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest ever recorded in the state so far in a day. The state has been recording over 600 cases for three consecutive days now. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 32,023 while the death toll is 1,828. The state recorded 19 new deaths due to the disease of which nine were in Ahmedabad, four in Surat, two in Surendranagar and one each in Banaskantha, Rajkot, Kheda and Amreli.
Ahmedabad recorded 236 new cases of which 222 were within city limits. With this the total number of cases and deaths in the district now stand at 20,716 and 1,432 respectively. Surat, Vadodara and Gandhinagar recorded 206, 50 and two new cases respectively. The total number of cases in Surat stands at 4,630 while it is 2,219 and 637 for Vadodara and Gandhinagar. The death toll in Surat so far is 154, 47 for Vadodara and 29 for Gandhinagar. The state has 6,947 active cases so far.
