Gujarat on Saturday recorded 615 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest ever recorded in the state so far in a day. The second highest recorded was 580, which was recorded twice in June. With this the total number of cases in the state now stands at 30,773, while the death toll is 1,790. The state recorded 18 new deaths due to the disease of which 12 were in Ahmedabad, two in Surat and one each in Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Botad.
Ahmedabad recorded 211 new cases of which 197 were within city limits. With this the total number of cases and deaths in the district now stand at 20,269 and 1,410 respectively. Surat, Vadodara and Gandhinagar recorded 184, 47 and nine new cases respectively. The total number of cases in Surat stands at 4,242 while it is 2,121 and 625 for Vadodara and Gandhinagar. The death toll in Surat so far is 147, 47 for Vadodara and 28 for Gandhinagar. The state has 6,566 active cases so far.
