Ahmedabad saw strong winds in the evening as the weather turned for the better in the city. The city that had been witnessing a surge in temperature had experienced a drop in the same since Cyclone Nisarga neared the coastal areas of the state. On Friday however, the evening turned windy and extremely cloudy before it began to rain. Many parts of the city also reported dust winds. It should be noted that the city is just a few days short of the beginning of monsoon.
Usually monsoon begins in Ahmedabad from mid of June. SG Highway, Vastrapur, Naranpura, Bopal and Makarba were among those that reported strong winds and rains. Several commuters were caught unawares as the weather turned for the worse. Some parts of Ahmedabad had earlier a few days ago witnessed some rains too. The change in weather is likely to further hamper the city’s fight against COVID-19.
