What is allowed and what is barred under Lockdown 4.0? Read on to find out


Chief minister Vijay Rupani on Monday addressed the state to inform about the relaxations that will be part of lockdown 4.0.

Here is what you need to know

No relaxations will be allowed in containment zones of the state except for those already present. As of now sale of essential commodities are allowed in containment zones from 8 am to 3pm.

Shops and industries outside containment zones will be allowed to function from 8 am to 4pm.

Shops and such can open in non-containment zones, mainly West Ahmedabad, but will have to follow the odd-even rule.

Rickshaws can ferry only two passengers at a time. However, they will not be allowed to be run in Ahmedabad and Surat in the first phase.

There will be a complete lockdown between 7 pm and 7 am.

Only 20 people will be allowed to attend funeral, 50 at weddings.

GSRTC buses will run across the state barring Ahmedabad.

Barber shops/salons allowed to function outside containment zones

Cabs/taxis can ferry only two passengers but cannot run in containment zones.

Restaurants and panshops can operate outside containment zones but only for delivery and take-aways.

Those found spitting and without a mask to be fined Rs200.

Masks will be sold at Amul parlours too, initially only in A’bad. Three layered masks to be available for Rs5 per unit, N-95 for Rs65.

In Surat textile units were allowed to reopen outside containment zones.

These relaxations will be valid upto May 31 and will come into force from May 19.
