New Delhi: With the Covid situation in the national capital coming under control, the government has decided to end the weekend curfew as well as odd-even restrictions for markets.
Additionally, restaurants and cinema halls can resume operations at 50 per cent capacity.
However, night curfew will continue from 10 pm to 5 am.
The decisions were taken at a review meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), attended by Governor Anil Baijal.
While the weekend curfew has been lifted, there is no change in the status of schools and colleges which will continue to remain shut.
The upper limit of people in attendance at weddings has been increased from 20 to 200.
Delhi health minister Satyender Jain said on Thursday that the Covid situation was under control and that less than 5,000 cases were expected during the day. He also said the positivity rate would fall below the existing 10 per cent.
