Gujarat on Thursday recorded 176 trauma cases related to kite and manjha injuries up to 6 pm on the day of Uttarayan.
Of the total Uttarayan related cases reported with the 108 emergency services in Ahmedabad, 13 were cases in which the victim’s throat was slit due to kite strings. Three people suffered trauma after falling on the road while trying to escape the manjha threads.
As per data released by GVK – EMRI 108, 2,304 emergency cases were registered in Gujarat till 6 pm on January 14. Despite the numbers, there is a 13.61% decline in emergency cases compared to the last Uttarayan for the same period.
GVK EMRI 108, COO – Jashvant Prajapati has said that to meet the expected surge in emergency cases during the festivals they have placed 622 ambulances across the state.
13 mishap due to Kite thread during Uttarayan in Ahmedabad
A 55-year-old man Kaniyalal Patel’s throat was slit by kite strings near Vastral ring road in Ahmedabad. He was shifted to Spandan Hospital for treatment.
Vishal Gosai (29) was shifted to Jivraj Mehta Hospital after he fell from the vehicle due to kite strings that got caught in his vehicle near Vishala Circle.
A 45-year-old man Chetan Modi was referred to Avadh Hospital in Vastral after his throat was cut by a kite thread near RTO Circle in Vastral.
Subhash Damor, a 7-year-old kid suffered head injuries near Visat Circle after he met with an accident while chasing a kite on a busy road. He was shifted to Civil Hospital in Asarwa.
