A video of policemen getting thrashed in public by supporters of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the Kumbh region of Vrindavan has gone viral on social media depicting the state of law and order in Uttar Pradesh.

Notably, the video is of a scuffle between RSS supporters and the police after an RSS member accused the cops of assaulting a pracharak. The scuffle took place after some cops allegedly misbehaved with RSS zila pracharak Manok Kumar. At that time, Kumar was taking a bath in the Yamuna river at the Kumbh fair of Vrindavan.

According to media reports, Kumar, while bathing in the river, had crossed over the railing to which the cops objected and asked him to not go into the river. The RSS workers then clashed with the cops while the former alleged that they were beaten up by policemen.

Soon, RSS and BJP workers reached the area in large numbers. Members of RSS, BJP and other outfits gathered in Kotwali and shouted slogans against the police.

BJP metropolitan president Vinod Agarwal sat on a hunger strike in front of the United District Hospital demanding action against the policemen.

As the news spread, the district magistrate, SSP and other police administrative officers also reached the spot. Gokul MLA Pooran Prakash, Circle Officer and the Kumbh in-charge also rushed to the site. The groups protested against the police and demanded legal action against the accused policemen.

While Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) worker Bacchu Singh demanded legal action against those who assaulted and abused RSS officials in the Kumbh region, an aide of Manoj Kumar has been booked for assault of four policemen, including a sub-inspector.
