Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday blamed the Congress without naming the party for the road accident in Auraiya which killed 24 migrants. Following the criticism that followed the incident, Adityanath said that the Congress should understand that one truck involved in the accident came from Rajasthan, while the other was from Punjab. Both Punjab and Rajasthan have Congress in power.
He said that the migrants who travelled in the trucks had paid a hefty amount to be transported. He questioned what the respective state government was doing if they had to pay money for the transportation.
He also said that he was still waiting for the Congress to provide a list of the 1,000 buses that the party said it has kept ready to ferry the migrants. The chief minister asked the opposition not to play petty politics during a pandemic.
He said along with a list of 1,000 buses if the party provided the list of migrant labourers as well, the state will definitely allow the workers to come to UP. The CM’s comment came after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that they have kept 1,000 buses ready to ferry migrants.
