In UP Unnao district Farmers demanding better compensation for their land acquired for a residential project, clashed with police on Saturday when government officials visited the site to clear encroachment. It heated up once again as the protesting farmers allegedly set ablaze a pipe near the power substation. The agitated farmers also allegedly set a vehicle of the crusher plant on fire on Sunday.
Fire department and police force reached the scene. Attempts to control the fire are currently underway and the heavy force has been deployed around the area to prevent the incident.

On Saturday, there was a clash between farmers and police for 6 hours. The farmers are demanding better compensation for their land acquired for the Trans-Ganga City project, an upcoming township near Kanpur.
Several farmers were injured as police batton-charged the protesters, used tear gas and water cannons on more than 500 farmers.The police were forced to make a lathi charge in response to the stone pelting done by the farmers. More than 7 police personnel have been injured in the stone-pelting by farmers, while more than 12 farmers have been injured in the lathi-charge and escape.
