Uma Bharti to stay away from Ram temple event

BJP leader Uma Bharti on Monday clarified that she will stay away from the Ram temple groundbreaking ceremony. Uma Bharti said the reason behind her decision is the COVID-19 pandemic, with many BJP leaders testing positive for the virus.

Concerned about PM Modi

Bharti, who was at the forefront of the Ram temple movement, took to Twitter to clarify her decision. In a series of tweets, Uma Bharti said she is worried about those attending the event, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 61-year-old woman said her concern about the health of others has increased after Union home minister Amit Shah and several other BJP leaders tested positive for COVID-19.

She tweeted: “Ever since I heard about Amit Shah and BJP leaders in UP testing positive for COVID-19, I am worried about those attending the event, especially for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

‘Will visit the site after everyone leaves’

Uma Bharti said she has informed the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Ram Janmabhoomi authorities regarding her decision.

She said she will leave Bhopal on Monday and in her journey towards Ayodhya, she will meet many people. As a result, there are chances that I might contract the virus from them, she said.
