Thousands of people have been evacuated from Afghanistan after the Taliban took over the country. Even now, the rush at the Kabul airport continues as people scramble to get out of the country as they try to escape the Taliban regime. The US has indicated that while it may extend the August 31 deadline to evacuate its citizens and Afghan nationals who had worked for it, it will try to complete the process by then.
