Former Congress Ahmedabad city president Chetan Raval and another leader Maulin Vaishnav are the latest from the party to test positive for COVID-19. Earlier two days after the Rajya Sabha elections, Congress candidate Bharatsinh Solanki had tested positive for the disease. Media reports said that Vaishnav’s initial report had been negative but a second test confirmed that he was COVID-19 positive.
Solanki, who is undergoing treatment at Banker Hospital in Vadodara, had interacted with several Congress leaders during the Rajya Sabha polls. He got himself tested for the disease after he began to feel unwell.
On Tuesday Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Gujarat S Murali Krishna was put under quarantine after the official came in touch with Solanki Several other officials involved in the Rajya Sabha polls were also asked to go in quarantine for the same reason. Congress MLA Himmatsinh Patel has also been put under quarantine for the same reason.
