2 held in fake licence racket in Ahmedabad


The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has nabbed two people and blown the lid off a fake licence racket being run in the city. Cops have recovered several licences, Aadhar cards, mobile and an Activa scooter from the two.

Ashraful Sheikh was nabbed with a fake licence from an area in Juhapura and on questioning he told the cops that he got it from one Marufmulla a resident of Fatehwadi for Rs6000.

Later cops nabbed Marfumulaa too. The second accused told the cops that he had been in the business of making suhc fake document for quite sometime. He used to make it at his home and so far have made 39 such fake document.

He said he would charge Rs5000 for two-wheelers and four-wheeler licences and Rs2500 from the bike owners who needed his service.

Cops are now trying to find out the people who used the accused’s services and whether other people are involved in the scam.
