The men’s hockey team stormed into the semi-finals after beating Great Britain 3-1.
The three goals for India were scored by Dilpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh and Hardik Singh.. Sam Ward scored Great Britain’s single goal from a penalty corner.
India will now face Belgium in semi-finals on Tuesday.
This is for the first time after 1980 Mexico Olympics, when Indian men won the tournament, that the hockey team entered the semi-finals.
Earlier in the day, PV Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win two golds in Olympics after claiming the bronze.
Congratulatory messages started pouring in on social media for the players.
