- Shantanu Sen had snatched papers from Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday
New Delhi: The monsoon session of the Parliament has so far failed to see a single day of uninterrupted work over several issues, with both Houses facing adjournments every day. It was no different on Friday. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till noon.
During the day, Trinamool Congress MP Shantanu Sen, who had snatched papers from Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday, was suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of the monsoon session.
The motion to suspend Shantanu Sen was moved by MoS Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan.
The move was objected to by TMC floor reader Sukhendu Sekhar Roy.
The House was adjourned till noon.
In the Lok Sabha, several Opposition leaders reached the well of the House, making responses almost inaudible. As disruptions continued, the Lower House of the Parliament, too, was adjourned till noon.
