Ticket counter removed from Maninagar railway station, people have to rush to Kalupur Station

Ahmedabad: A new railway track from Kankaria yard to Vatva has been built on the site of platform number 3 at Maninagar railway station. In the process of making way for new railway track, the ticket windows situated at platform have been demolished and removed from there. New ticket windows have not been constructed till date. In such a situation a large number of passengers residing in Ahmedabad East area have to rush to Kalupur Railway station for availing the tickets. Besides, in absence of light boards indicating coach number on the newly built platform, a stampede takes place whenever the train arrives on the platform.

During the summer holidays, number of passengers in trains increases on a large scale. Due to the closure of the ticket counter in Maninagar for the last few months, the residents of Ahmedabad East are compelled to visit Kalupur railway station, four and a half kilometers away from Maninagar, to get train tickets. On the other hand, there are always long queues at the ticket counters of Kalupur railway station. The passengers have to face severe hardships and problems. The people residing in Maninagar demand to open the ticket counter at the earliest.
