Rs2.20 lakh kept in bank locker in Vadodara destroyed by termites!

Rs2.20 lakh worth of cash kept in a bank locker of Bank Of Baroda in Vadodara was destroyed by termites. The account holder has now asked the bank to refund her the money.

Rehna Desarwala had a bank locker with Bank Of Baroda’s Pratapnagar branch. She had kept Rs2.20 lakh in locker number 252. When she recently opened the locker she found that the money was eaten by termites.

The bank staff was not aware of the problem and suspect that the termites could have destroyed documents in other lockers in the bank too.

The woman had money in denominations of Rs10, Rs100, and Rs500. She has now filed a complaint with the bank manager.
