Ahmedabad on Wednesday evening experienced strong winds and heavy rains. Rains were reported from almost all parts of the city but were preceded by strong winds. The change in weather brought a much needed respite from the humidity that the city was being experienced in the city for the last many days. The Met Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rains in the state in the next four days.
Meanwhile private weather forecasting agency Skymet on Wednesday said that the heavy rains will last upto the weekend for most parts of the state. South Gujarat, particularly Vapi, Navsari, Valsad, and Surat can expect heavy showers upto July 16. It has predicted moderate to heavy showers for Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, and Anand during the weekends.
Saurashtra, that had recently seen flooding will also see heavy rains although the intensity will be much less than earlier it said. Bhavnagar, Mahuva, Veraval, Somnath, Diu, Amreli, Junagadh and Rajkot will receive few spells of intense rains, Skymet said.
