Mumbai: The Indian stock market witnessed a sharp uptrend on the second day after breaking the first day of the week. The Sensex opened at a high of 41,058.82 with a rise of 120.10 points. The National Stock Exchange NIFTY opened at 12,090.75 level after a 36.82-point increase. At 9:50 am the Sensex was at the highest level. The Sensex reached 41,204.58. On Monday the Sensex was up 41,185.03 points.
The stock market was bullish at 9:15 am during the pre-opening, with the Sensex up 41.652.36 points, up 113.64 points. The Nifty was also at 12,082.45, after adding 28.50 points. Moreover, the rupee opened at 70.95 against the dollar today. Which closed yesterday at 71.

Gold prices rose by Rs 50 to Rs 38,698 per 10 grams in Delhi on Monday due to global cues. In the previous days, the price of gold was Rs 38648 per 10 grams. Silver also rose by Rs 234 to Rs 45,460 per kg. Silver had previously closed at Rs 45,226 per kg on Saturday.
