Schools in the state are not likely to re-open in June. Media reports said that a decision to this effect has been taken at a meeting of education department officials chaired by Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Wednesday. The report also said that the department has in an effort to ensure that there is no break in education decided to deliver books for the next year at the student’s place.
The books will be delivered by the teachers. Over 3.25 lakh teachers are likely to be involved in the job of delivering books to the students in the state. As far as colleges in the state are concerned, the department has issued a notification stating that Semester 3, 5, and 7 students will have to attend online classes from June 21 onwards.
In all, there are close to 2 lakh teachers in the primary section and 1.25 in the secondary section in the state. The state has around 1.4 crore students in various sections. The students are also likely to be taught through Doordarshan channel since not everyone may have a laptop.
