Ahmedabad: After the round of unseasonal rain, temperature is increasing in Gujarat. In view of the possibility of temperature touching 43 to 45 degrees in Ahmedabad in the next two days, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has declared Orange Alert. AMC has also issued advisory for it. The elderly,children and pregnant women have been asked to take care and remain vigilant.

ORS distribution at AMTS and BRTS bus stop
ORS is being distributed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at AMTS and BRTS bus stops in Ahmedabad. ORS is being distributed to the residents of the city to save them from heat stroke. Besides, people have been advised to consume more liquid drinks like buttermilk-water. If any person has symptoms like dizziness, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting appear, then he is advised to take necessary treatment immediately. AMC will also place ORS packets at all health centers and at some stands of BRTS and AMTS.
The temperature has shoot up in the state, including Ahmedabad, due to the effect of a high pressure system that suddenly activated in the upper layers of the atmosphere. The temperature crossed 40 degrees in 9 cities of the state including Ahmedabad. At the same time, the temperature is likely to touch 43 to 45 degrees from tomorrow.
108 calls increases due to heat
In the first week of May, 108 ambulances have treated 465 people with abdominal pain and 304 people with unconsciousness. Between May 1 and 7, 108 ambulances received 1151 calls, including complaining about abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting due to heat, from different areas of Ahmedabad.
