New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday for the third round of questioning in the National Herald case.

Sonia Gandhi’s first appearance at the office of the agency was on July 21. The next round was held on Tuesday, July 26.

Both days were marked by protests by Congress members against Sonia’s questioning.

The ED had earlier questioned Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as part of its investigation into a case of alleged money laundering involving National Herald and Young Indian publications.

According to reports, the Congress chief has told the ED that it was Motilal Vora, the late former party treasurer, who handled the transactions between Associated Journals Limited (AJL), which published National Herald, and Young Indian in which Sonia and Rahul hold majority stake.

They both are out on bail in the case. However, SC has refused to drop the charges against them.
