BJP MP from Sabarkantha, Dipsinh Rathod, has written to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking immediate transfer of the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the district due to his alleged failure in performing his duties. In a letter written to Shah on May 10, Rathod said that the cop behaves arbitrarily and acts as if he is a law into himself. He said the conduct of the cop is objectionable and accused him of ignoring suggestions and advice of his fellow officials.
Rathod in the letter has accused the cop of ignoring even the democratically elected representatives like the MP and MLA and wondered if the cop has any hidden political agenda. The letter alleges that the attitude of the cop has resulted in law and order problems in the district which borders Rajasthan and this has led to chaos.
He said the condition of the district headquarter Himmatnagar was no better and that the number of Covid 19 cases were on the rise as the cops were unable to control the surge of crowds.
