Earlier, a video of the first COVID-19 patient, who was discharged from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital in Ahmedabad after her successful treatment, getting a heartwarming welcome by her society members had gone viral.
Notably, doctors have openly spoken against the stigmatisation of COVID-19 patients. According to doctors, stigmatisation of COVID-19 patients is one of the reasons behind the spread of the virus as people having symptoms akin to the viral infection are not approaching health centres for confirmatory tests and treatment.
