The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat police have nabbed Haresh Goswami, a member and shooter of the dreaded Chhota Rajan gang. Police said Goswami was nabbed from Vastral area of Ahmedabad following a tip off. Goswami had come to his sister’s place in the city but had been unable to leave after the lockdown came into force.
Goswami along with one more member of the gang, Rajesh Khanna, is wanted in several incidents of looting in various places including Surat, Mumbai and Silvassa. They were involved in a Rs80 lakh diamond loot in Surat in 2011 as well as a firing and loot incident of Rs17 lakh was masterminded by them in the year 2018 in Mumbai.
Goswami along with another accomplice was involved in the loot of Rs1.17 crore from a check post in Bhilad in 2017 and was also behind the loot of Rs22 lakh from a house in the same place in 2018.
In the same year he had also attempted loot from a jewellery store by firing at the car of the store owner in Silvassa. Cops said that Goswami’s father originally belonged to Una, but he himself was born in Mumbai which was his mother’s birth place.
