Sharad Pawar will have ‘Power ‘ of NCP, committee rejects resignation, will complete term

Mumbai: NCP committee has rejected resignation of Sharad Pawar. Following the rejection Sharad Pawar will remain as President of NCP. It may be noted that before a few days Sharad Pawar announced his resignation as a President of NCP. Thereafter a committee was formed to pick the next NCP president. Now, the committee has rejected Sharad Pawar’s resignation from the post. Senior NCP leader Praful Patel proposed this resolution in the panel’s meeting on Friday.

Following the decision taken in the meeting Praful Patel, Vice President of NCP, addressing a press conference, said,” Sharad Pawar suddenly announced his resignation on May, 2. Sharad Pawar appointed a committee of party leaders for further course of action and to elect a new president. Today we held a committee meeting. Many leaders including myself, met Pawar sahab and we constantly requested him to reconsider his decision as the country and the party need him at this time. Besides, NCP leaders other party leaders and eminent personalities also requested him to continue as the party chief.

Talking to media Praful Patel added that Pawar Sahab took the decision without giving any information to us. We held today a meeting considering demands of party workers and leaders and committee unanimously passed a resolution. The committee unanimously rejects the resignation and we appeal him to continue as the party chief.
