Several parts of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar received rain on Friday evening after a spell of strong dust winds. Across the city, the highest rainfall was recorded in Naroda and Kotarpur area which got 2 inches of rainfall followed by Chandkheda, Odhav, Memco and Ranip that got anywhere between 9.5 mm to 5 mm of rainfall. The rest of the city received very light rains. Some areas close to Adalaj also reported loss of power supply due to the wind and rains.
Across the state three districts and nine talukas received rain on Friday. The highest rainfall of six inches was recorded in Gir Somnath while Jafradabad and Wadiya recorded three inches of rainfall each. Talala, Dediyapada, Umarpada in South Gujarat also received two inches of rainfall. In Gandhinagar district the highest rainfall was recorded in Dehgam that got 2.5 inches of rainfall.
The state has so far received just 15.92% of its average annual rainfall of 831mm.
