Sedition Case Booked Against Woman for ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Slogan At Owaisi’s Anti-CAA Rally

`ojA public meeting was organized in Bengaluru to protest against the anti- CAA in presence of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi. During this time Amulya Leona raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan in presence Owaisi on Thursday before she was stopped forcefully and handed over to the police. Bengaluru police had booked under sedition case of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Amulya’s father has condemned the incident saying, “What Amulya said is wrong. She was joined by some Muslims and wasn’t listening to me.” He was confronted by unidentified men who were standing around him while he made the statement.

Amulya has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.  A case of Sedition under Sec 124A of the Indian Penal Code is registered against her for raising Pakistan Zindabad slogan. An attempt was made to stop the woman but she did not stop. Eventually the police had to remove her from the stage. Owaisi distanced himself from the incident and said the student was not associated with the party.

In Bengaluru, a program was organized on Thursday to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). Owaisi said while addressing the people that he did not agree with the woman. He said, “Neither mine nor my party has any relation with this woman. The organizers should not have called him here. If I had known this, I would not have come here. We are for India and we do not support the enemy country in any way. Our whole movement is to save India.”
