Section 144 Imposed in Surat and Rajkot, Amid Tension Arises in Vadodara

On Thursday, protests against the CAA and NRC was held in several areas of Ahmedabad. The protest against this Act was once seen in many districts of Gujarat where the protesters pelted stones on the policemen. After the Friday Prayer in Vadodara the protesters turned violent. In view of the worsening conditions in Gujarat, section 144 has been imposed in Rajkot and Surat.

Protesters stormed at police personnel on Thursday in Shah-e-Alam area. In which 21 policemen including DCP, an ACP were injured. An FIR has been filed against 5,000 people on the basis of the complaint lodged by Solanki of Isanpur Police Station. Section such as conspiracy to murder, banning of government work, rioting were established.

On the other hand, in Banaskantha people rallied against the NRC and CAA on the highway. After which the protesters attacked the police vehicles. A case has been registered on 3022 protesters in this case. Of these, 22 have been identified. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage to identify the rest.
