New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the demolition of 5,000-odd jhuggis in Gujarat after it was informed by lawyers about the plans. SC was informed that there were plans by state authorities to demolish the jhuggis on Tuesday night.
The case has been listed for Wednesday. The Apex Court has ordered the stateto maintain status quo in the matter until then. It also issued a notice to the state government in the case.
According to reports, the demolition was to start and end the same day.
