Saudi Arabia Bans on Travel to Mecca and Medina over Corona Virus


Saudi Arabia has banned travel to Mecca and Medina, a place of Muslim prilgrims . Saudi Arabia has taken this important decision before the annual Hajj pilgrimage. So far 220 cases of corona infection have been reported in Middle East countries. Apart from Mecca, Arabs have also prohibited the visit to the mosque of Prophet Mohammad located in Medina. This decision of Saudi Arabia shows that they are making extraordinary decision to stop the spread of the deadly corona virus.

The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia issued a statement saying that we have decided to suspend the entry visas of all countries. The ministry said, “Saudi Arabia renews its support for all international measures to limit the spread of this virus and urges its citizens to exercise caution before travelling to countries experiencing coronavirus outbreaks. We ask God Almighty to spare all humanity from all harm.”

Among the countries of the Middle East, Iran is most affected by Corona virus . Even Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi is also affected by this and has been kept aside for treatment. There have been 139 reported cases of corona infection in Iran, out of which 19 people have died. Apart from this, 33 cases have been reported in Bahrain.

Significantly, thousands of people arrive every month to perform Umrah in Mecca and Medina, located in Saudi Arabia. Even though the pace of new cases of corona virus infection has slowed down in China, but new cases of the corona virus is coming from the Middle East countries.
