- Minister’s custody extended till June 18 after court reserves order on bail plea
New Delhi: Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a money laundering case, claimed to suffer from memory loss, the agency told the trial court on Tuesday during the hearing of his bail plea application.
The order in the bail plea hearing has been reserved till June 18.
Satyendar Jain claimed he lost his memory after suffering from Covid-19.
Additional solicitor general SV Raju informed the court that the agency confronted Jain with documents that proved his membership in trusts that were beneficiaries of money from hawala transactions. At this point, the latter claimed he had lost his memory.
The AAP leader was arrested by ED on May 30 for alleged involvement in a money laundering case following an FIR by CBI. AAP leaders, including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, have called the case against him fake.
