Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit’s son and Sandeep Dixit said that Congress does not have a shortage of leaders. Even now there are at least 6-8 leaders in the Congress who can lead the party by becoming president. Targeting senior party leaders, he said that sometimes you want inaction, because you don’t want anything to happen. And now senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has supported Sandeep Dixit’s statement.
Supporting former MP Sandeep Dixit’s statement on senior leaders over the delay in appointing new party president, Shashi Tharoor said, “What Sandeep Dikshit said openly is what dozens of party leaders from across the country are saying privately, incl many w/ responsible positions in the Party. I renew my appeal to CWC to hold leadership elections to energise workers and inspire voters.”

After party’s dismal performance in the Delhi Assembly polls, Dikshit said there were many leaders in Congress who were capable of leading the party and accused the party high command of inaction over the question of the election of a party president.
