The power crisis in the Rajasthan Congress is continuing with allegations and counter-allegations. It is learnt that the former deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, who led the rebellion in July-August this year against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has sent a legal notice to a Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga.

Allegation against Sachin Pilot

Malinga has alleged that Sachin Pilot had offered him Rs 35 crore during the political crisis to join the BJP. Sources close to Pilot confirmed that a legal notice has been served to the Congress MLA, who represents the Bari constituency in Dholpur district.

Malinga, even after the crisis was diffused and Pilot came back to the party’s fold, reiterated his charges against Pilot by stating that Pilot had offered him Rs 35 crores to join him in the rebellion against Gehlot.

Irked by the continuous outcry of Malinga, Pilot has sent him a legal notice. Malinga also stated that he had told the chief minister about the offer that Pilot made to him during the crisis period. Malinga claimed that he told Pilot that he was a loyalist of the Congress party and was not a purchasable commodity.

BJP trying to destabilise Congress govt

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently remarked that the BJP was still trying to destabilise the Congress government in the state and the BJP was ready to buy MLAs to topple the government. He also charged that the BJP was targeting the Congress government in Rajasthan and the Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra where Congress is an alliance partner.

While Gehlot stated that there was a constant threat to his government by the BJP, the Congress general secretary in charge of Rajasthan Ajay Maken countered the claim made by Gehlot. Maken had said that there was no threat to the Congress government and it would complete its full term.
