Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has become the third batsman to score over 5,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rohit Sharma achieved the feat in IPL 2020 in Thursday’s match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
Two other batsmen who have scored above 5,000 runs in the IPL are Royal Challenger Bangalore’s (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli and Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina. While Virat Kohli has failed to impress in the ongoing league matches of the tournament, Suresh Raina is not playing the IPL citing personal reasons.
Rohit Sharma stats
Rohit Sharma has so far played 192 matches in IPL with a cumulative score of 5,068. Till date, he has played 187 innings and remained not out in 28 of them. His highest score is 109. Rohit Sharma’s batting average is 31.87 and he has a strike rate of 131.26.
Rohit has one century and 38 half-centuries to his credit in IPL. He has hit 444 boundaries and 204 sixes.
Virat Kohli stats
RCB skipper Virat Kohli is the highest run scorer in IPL. He has played 180 matches and has a cumulative score of 5,430. He has played 172 innings and remained not out in 26 of them. His highest score in IPL is 113. He has a batting average of 37.19 with a strike rate of 131.12. He has scored five centuries in IPL so far, apart from scoring 36 half-centuries. He has hit 480 boundaries and 190 sixes.
Suresh Raina stats
CSK’s Suresh Raina, who is not playing the IPL 2020, has played 193 matches and scored 5,368 runs. He has batted in 189 innings and remained not out in 28 of them. His highest score is 100. Suresh Raina has a batting average of 33.34, with a strike rate of 137.14. He has a century and 38 half-centuries to his credit. He has hit 493 boundaries and 194 sixes.
