Ahmedabad: An employee of an angadia firm in Ahmedabad fell prey to a robber who snatched Rs 2 crore that he was carrying. The incident took place near Vastrapur lake on Monday
According to available details, the victim, an employee of Mahendra Soma Patel’s firm was in Vastrapur on Monday when the accused threw chilli powder in his eyes and snatched the bag of money. The incident took place near IDBI bank. The victim had just stepped out after withdrawing money from the bank and kept it in his car. CCTV footage showed the accused pull out the bag from the car and rush towards a parked Activa.
The alert angadia employee spotted him and ran after him, holding on to the two-wheeler, the footage showed. This resulted in the robber falling off. The commotion caught the attention of passersby and they gheraoed him. Vastrapur police personnel who happened to be in the area on duty caught the accused. They recovered the money from him and returned it to the angadia employee.
