Delhi: Following the conviction of Rahul Gandhi in ‘Modi surname’ defamation case by the Surat magestrial court, opposition parties are in pandemonium and a few leaders have issued controversial statements. Meanwhile, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury said she will now file a defamation case against PM Modi for his referring me as ‘Surpanakha’on the floor of the house in 2018. She has also shared the old clip of Modi through a tweet.

Renuka Chaudhary tweeted
In a tweet Renuka Chaudhary said now it has to be seen that how quickly the court works. Former Union Minister, in her tweet, has shared the video of remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where PM Modi asks Rajya Sabha Chairman to allow Renuka Chaudhary to laugh in the house. PM said he has heard such laughter after ‘Ramayana’ serial.
Verbal attack on PM Modi
Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury called Modi a ‘classless megalomaniac’, and wrote,” he told me ‘Shurpanakha’ on the floor of house. Now I will file a defamation case against him. Now it has to be seen how fast the courts act now.
In another tweet Renuka Chaudhary said “Rahul Gandhi chose not to apologize for fighting against corruption. He chose not to apologize for fighting against fascism. He chose not to apologize for speaking the truth,”
When the incident took place
The Opposition members in Rajya Sabha created a ruckus during the speech of PM Modi on 7 February, 2018. Meanwhile, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury started laughing loudly over a remark by Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, then PM Modi said, “Respected chairman, I request you to not say anything to Renuka ji. After Ramayana serial, we are blessed to get the opportunity to hear such laughter for the first time.”
