Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has been granted bail on Wednesday by the Metropolitan Court in the ADC Bank Defamation Case. In court, Surjewala declared himself innocent, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi granted his bail. The court granted conditional bail to Surjewala on a bond of Rs 15,000. Whereas the next hearing of this case will be held on February 15, 2020.
What was the whole matter
The Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank Private Limited had filed a criminal defamation suit against the Congress President Rahul Gandhi and the Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewal in the court. Surjewala had alleged after demonetisation hundreds of crores of rupees were deposited in the ADC Bank of Ahmedabad in a single day. After which a defamation suit was filed against him for defaming the bank.
