Megastar Rajinikanth was discharged from a private hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday after spending two nights there with complaints of blood pressure fluctuations. Earlier in the day, the hospital said nothing was alarming in the medical reports of the actor, and a team of doctors will evaluate him later in the day and make a decision on his discharge.
“All the investigation reports have come in and there is nothing alarming in the reports,” a medical bulletin from the hospital had said, providing an update on the 70-year-old actor’s health.
“He has been advised complete bed rest for one week and minimal physical activity. In the view of his condition, he has also been counselled to avoid any activity that increases the risk of contracting coronavirus,” the hospital said.
Rajinikanth admitted on Friday
Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital here on Friday for severe blood pressure fluctuation. He is in the Telangana capital since December 13 to shoot for the Tamil film, ‘Annaatthe,’ a Sun Pictures production.
The actor isolated himself after four of the crew members tested COVID-19 positive days ago. The superstar, however, tested negative.
Rajinikanth to launch political party
Earlier this month, Rajnikanth had announced that he will launch his political party in 2021. The actor said the exact date of the launch will be revealed on December 31. Notably, Rajnikanth had on December 31, 2017, announced his willingness to enter politics and contest the 2021 Assembly polls.
Rajinikanth has promised a new kind of politics in Tamil Nadu that has been dominated by the two Dravidian parties.
“We will change everything. If not now never. In the coming Assembly elections, we will win with the huge support of the people and will roll out honest, transparent, corruption-free, secular and spiritual politics in Tamil Nadu. Miracle will happen,” he had said in a Tamil tweet.
“Political and government changes in Tamil Nadu are a compulsion of our times. My supporters have been waiting for so long. I also owe it to them. I do not mind sacrificing my life for the people of Tamil Nadu,” he had said.
