The priest of a temple in Karauli district of Rajasthan, who was burnt alive because of a land dispute, succumbed to injuries on Thursday.

Rajasthan CM assures action against culprits
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the ghastly killing of Babu Lal Vaishnav was deplorable and should be condemned by the society. He said that nobody who was involved with the cruel crime would be spared and the culprits will be brought to book.
Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also condemned the killing. She said all the persons connected with the crime should be arrested. She condoled the death of the priest and sent her condolence to the family.
BJP demands CM’s resignation
Union minister Prakash Javadekar has demanded the resignation of Ashok Gehlot government.
He said Rahul Gandhi should know that the state of Rajasthan is facing a law and order situation and people are not safe there.
Villagers supported the priest
According to the police, Kailash and his associates Shankar, Namo and Kishan encroached upon the temple land and started building a structure there. This land was donated to the family of the priest of Radhakrishna temple in Bukna village by the villagers.
The family of the priest was doing farming in the 15 bights of land and were looking after the temple. But Kailash Meena and his associates forcibly encroached on the temple land. Thus, the matter was raised by the deceased before the villagers who decried Kailash Meena’s action.
They endorsed that the land belonged to him and it was a gift by the villagers to him. Irked by the support, Kailash and his associates threw petrol on the priest and set him on fire. The poor priest got eighty percent burns and succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Thursday night.
The police are investigating the case.
