In the previous bye-elections held on April 17, the Congress won the Sahara and Sujangarh seats, while the Rajsamand seat was won by BJP. Sahara seat was won by Gayatri Devi, the wife of Kailash Trivedi whose death caused the elections. He died of COVID-19 in Delhi.

The Sujangarh seat was retained by the Congress in the bye-election, following the death of Bhanwar Lal Meghwal, a minister in Ashok Gehlot’s cabinet. The seat was won by Meghwal’s son Manoj Meghwal. Dipti Maheshwari retained the Rajsamand seat which was last won in 2018 by her mother Kiran Maheshwari of BJP.
