The Rajasthan Congress on Friday claimed that the Ashok Gehlot government has fulfilled more than half of the promises made by the party in its election manifesto in the past 21 months. These promises were made during the 2018 Assembly election in the Congress’ manifesto.
The AICC general secretary for Rajasthan, Ajay Maken, praised the good work of the Ashok Gehlot government. He said the government has gone beyond the promises made in the manifesto to benefit the people.
Congress workers should spread awareness
Ajay Maken added that now it is for the party cadre to go to the people and create awareness about the good work done by the government.
The Ashok Gehlot government’s report card that was presented to the people by the ministers suggests that each department in the past 21 months was able to achieve around 50 per cent of its target.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot could not attend the function organised by the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) owing to illness.
Ajay Maken in a virtual conference said that the government has done its part and it is for the party workers now to tell people how a government, despite facing a crisis like the coronavirus pandemic, was able to deliver.

Maken said that the ministers should sit with the district Congress committee members to convey them about the work of the government.
Rajasthan govt became a role model during COVID-19 pandemic
He said the Congress government in Rajasthan efficiently rendered services to the people amid the coronavirus pandemic. The state government dealt with the coronavirus pandemic like a war and waged battle against it with all its might.
Ajay Maken said Gehlot government became a role model during the pandemic and other states followed it. He said statistics provide that the performance of the state during coronavirus pandemic has been one of the best in the country.
There can be no better way than this in any democracy, Maken said.
Praising the performance of Gehlot and his government, Maken said he did not see work progressing “at such a fast pace anywhere”.
Work under progress
Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasara claimed on Friday that the Rajasthan government has completed 85 percent of the promises. He said apart from this, work is under progress to fulfill 173 promises and these promises would be fulfilled soon.
