Amid the ongoing political turmoil in Rajasthan, the state unit of the BJP has started shifting its MLAs to Gujarat. The Rajasthan BJP’s move comes ahead of the crucial Assembly session from August 14 onwards.
Notably, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot might attempt to prove his majority in a floor test. However, the opposition BJP is claiming that Gehlot lacks the numbers required to sustain the government.
In such a situation, the BJP is worried that Congress might opt for horse-trading in a desperate attempt to save the government.

CM Gehlot ‘surprised’
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said he was surprised that BJP that was accusing the Congress of hiding the party’s MLAs fearing poaching are themselves panic-stricken. As a result, they have sent their 18 MLAs to Gujarat anticipating fear of poaching from the Congress.
“What is surprising is it’s the Congress which is ruling, but the BJP has sent its MLAs into hiding. We have the majority and that we will prove as well, and we do not require any poaching. In fact, The BJP is indulged in the sinful job of trying to topple an elected government. Such an attempt will only be punished by people in their own way,” Gehlot said.
