Rajasthan: 77 Kids Died in Jay Kay Lon Hospital in 24 Days, Hospital Administration Ordered an Inquiry

A public health system disaster has come from the state of Rajasthan. The Jay Kay Lon Hospital in Rajasthan’s Kota has ordered an investigation after seventy-seven children died in first 24 days of this month with 10 deaths in 48 hours.

Rajasthan has stated that 10 children who died over the last couple of days were extremely critical and on ventilator support. After which the hospital administration has ordered an inquiry into the whole case. However, the fact is that more than a thousand children are dying in this hospital every year for the last six years. In the last six years, more than six and a half thousand children have died in this hospital.

On behalf of the hospital authorities, it has been told that five newborns who died on December 23 and 24 were just a day old and breathed their last within few hours after they were admitted.

Hospital administration ordered an inquiry
Superintendent of JK Lone Hospital, HL Meena said, “After investigating, we have found that all the 10 deaths were normal and did not die because of negligence.” Here people of neighboring district Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh are referred for treatment.

Kota district collector Om Prakash Kasera said, “Investigation into the deaths of 10 children, who died in two days (December 23 and December 24), has found that they were brought to the hospital in critical condition after being referred from other hospitals in nearby districts”.
