- Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for deceased, Rs 50,000 for injured
Jaipur: A major collision between a multi-axle truck and a van in Jaipur on Saturday morning left at least six persons dead and four others injured.
According to reports, five of the six persons who died were candidates of Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET). They were among the 10 REET candidates who were travelling by the van. REET is scheduled to be held on Sunday.
The incident took place near Chaksu in Jaipur. The van was reportedly going from Baran to Sikar when it rammed the truck after the driver lost control over the vehicle. The injured have been shifted to hospitals and their families have been informed.
Following the incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted his condolences to the families of the deceased. He announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to families of the dead and Rs 50,000 to those injured.
The CM also urged people to avoid speeding while driving.
