Mandira Bedi’s filmmaker husband Raj Kaushal dies after massive heart attack

  • Kaushal died early on Wednesday morning

Mumbai: Filmmaker Raj Kaushal and husband of actor Mandira Bedi passed away on Wednesday morning after a massive heart attack. According to his friends, he died at around 4.30 am at his residence.

A Bachelor of Science graduate, Raj Kaushal began his career in 1989 as a copywriter. Between 1992 and 1996, he worked as assistant director under the Late Mukul Anand.

In 1998, he set up his advertising production company-Fuel.

Raj Kaushal and Mandira Bedi got married in 1999. Together they have son Vir and daughter Tara. He directed films like Anthony Kaun Hai (2006) and produced and directed Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004) and Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999). Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi marked his debut as Hindi feature film director.


Outpouring of grief on social media

Kaushal’s sudden demise has left the entire fraternity shocked.

“Today I lost a very dear friend, my condolences to his family. Known Raj Kaushal, for years, done a film with him, enjoyed every minute of his company. I have never seen a frown on his face, he was always smiling, always there if you needed him…will miss you brother… RIP” tweeted actor Arshad Warsi.

“Cannot believe #RajKaushal isn’t with us any more .. just so shocking. My hear goes out to

@mandybedi and her two lovely kids #RIP our happy smiling Raj.. your gentle soul will be missed,” said actor Tisca Chopra on Twitter

“One of my oldest, closest friends passes by and I can’t even be there at the funeral…can’t even see him okie last time…can’t pay my respects in person…and people think an actors job is all cushy and fun! It’s the most unenviable job in the world at times…” said actor Rohit Roy.
