Rahul Gandhi is all set to challenge a judgement of a Surat Court with team of expert advocates from Delhi on 3rd April. He will challenge his conviction and sentence in defamation case. A Surat court convicted Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case and sentenced him for 2 years. During Lok Sabha election in 2019, in a campaign, on his statement over Modi surname BJP leader Purnesh Modia had filed a case.

According to the information available Rahul Gandhi will not move to the High Court at present. During this visit his case will be completely handled by team of expert advocates from Delhi. Rahul Gandhi is visiting Surat on 3rd April. Team of the leaders from Gujarat Congress that includes Gujarat Party President Jagdish Thakor, Amit Chavda, Arjun Modhwadia and Bharat Singh Solanki, has already reached Surat.
