Sharad Pawar has said according to his belief there is no need for JPC probe in Adani issue. Following his statement there are reports of breach in opposition unity. Meanwhile, Kapil Sibal talking to PTI, news agency said that all parties should have the right to express their opinion.
Kapil Sibal said, “You should allow different parties to have different views. We should allow Rahul Gandhi to have a view on an individual and Sharad Pawar also have his point of view. That should not be an example of disunity.” Sibal added, “If you narrow down issues then you will have differences among political parties. If you have a broad collaborative platform which does not deal with narrow issues, the possibility of consensus is much greater.”
Controversy over Sharad Pawar statement
Controversy started when NCP chief Sharad Pawar, addressing a press conference in Delhi, gave a statement on demand of JPC probe of Adani issue. He said,” There was a time when we had to criticize the ruling party, we used to take the name of Tata-Birla. Tata has given sizable contribution to the country. Now a days Ambani-Adani name is mentioned, there is a need to think about their contribution to the country.” Pawar added, ” We think that out of 21 members in JPC there will be 15 from the ruling party. When majority people belong to the ruling party, how the truth will come out before the country.”
